Achieving Van Excellence

Beatties Distribution Services Ltd has become the first parcel delivery organisation in Northern Ireland to receive the Van Excellence Operator Accreditation from the Freight Transport Association. The company was presented with a certificate at the FTA's Summer in the City dinner at the Merchant Hotel.
Beatties Distribution, which operates around 30 vans, is a leading next day parcel delivery company in Northern Ireland and have been for the past 30+ years. Managing Director Stephen Beattie said: “Everyone here at Beatties Distribution are proud that we have been awarded the Van Excellence accreditation. As a delivery company we recognise, more than most, the occupational road risk and have invested time and resources implementing policies and procedures that improve safety for employees andprotect the company. We are proud to be the first parcel delivery company in Northern Ireland to achieve this certificate.”
The certificate was presented to Mr Matthew Beattie during the FTA's Summer in the City dinner (as pictured above). Van Excellence promotes high standards of van operation and driving by accrediting operators against an industry code of good practice. The scheme is aimed at raising compliance levels across the sector by setting high standards and sharing the best practice; therfore professionalising the industry and moving away from the traditional ‘white van man’ image.
